The KIPP Columbus learning campus is growing! In our growth we will continue to advance student learning, expand partnerships, enable superior programming, and serve as a teaching and leadership lab for schools nationwide, reimagining education through a deeper lens of antiracism, excellence, and joy.
Since the completion of Phase 1 of the current campus, the KIPP Columbus team has been working to find ways to educate additional students given a significant waiting list and this project will nearly double the number of students educated on KIPP’s campus to 4,000.
Support the KIPP Columbus Expansion
Our KIPP Columbus Learning Campus will include grades K-12, across various buildings/schools along with an early learning center (infant-preschool), and the future expansion will largely reflect our current building structures/configurations, but with additional students at the various grade bands. The new facilities will support at least grades K-5 and renovations/expansion of current facilities will support the secondary grades’ expansion. Enhancement of current/future amenities and programs will also be further designed in the months/years ahead.
Our expanded KIPP Columbus Primary, grades K-1, is scheduled to open in the fall of 2023.
The expanded KIPP Columbus Elementary, grades 2-5, in the fall of 2024, and a timeline beyond 2024 for additional construction/renovations (including high school renovations) is TBD.
Two local, minority owned firms are leading the design and construction for our expansion – Moody Nolan , the country’s largest African American owned architecture firm and Smoot Construction, a six decades+, family owned construction management company here in Central Ohio. We are honored to work with them, and you/our broader team and family, and community as we bring this to life.
